Odds and Ends

Things have been busy around here as usual. The big news is that we finally decided on living room furniture. It will be delivered a week from today. We got a couch, love seat, chair w/ ottoman as well as a coffee table and two end tables. All our Christmas money that we have saved for the last several years is gone, but I think it was a good purchase.
Kole likes to try to stuff as much as he can in his mouth at once. Here he has a mouth full of Fruit Loops. He very rarely gets them so I wish I could say that was why he stuffed his mouth full, but he does this with most of his food. He has been known to keep his fingers by his mouth just so he can poke food back in. We are trying to work on this habit.

Ella usually wakes up in the morning and calls out Mom or Dad and asks us to come get her. Appartently this morning she didn't have a preference because when she woke up we heard this. " Somebody come get me! I'm awake!" Needless to say it started our morning with a grin.

Goofy Pics!!

Kole LOVES to eat spaghetti, or as he calls them noonoles! Yogurt or yo-yo is also one of his favorites. This is what he looked like one day after he dined on both for lunch!!

Trav called this morning after he left the house to tell us how cold it was. Addi answered the phone and was very alarmed about it being -13 this morning. This is how she dressed to ride in the car to school. A bit overkill for the 20 steps she took outside this morning, but I bet she wasn't cold!!

Addi is 7!!!!!!!

It is hard to believe that Addison Ann is now seven years old. She is a joy to have in our lives. Miss Addi loves to help and has a very kind heart. Just yesterday when Ella left her Happy Meal toy in a store Addi gave hers to sister to help make her feel better. Addi loves gymnastics and enjoys having the extra space to practice. Math is her favorite subject in school, but she also has become quite the reader in the last couple of months. This was a big birthday for her. The celebrating started yesterday when we made a trip to Spencer. Addison got her ears pierced!! She was able to pick out the pair she wanted and did very well. She picked a pair of pink daisies. I was shocked by how much it actually costs to get your ears pierced, but it was a birthday present! Here she is modeling her newly pierced ears!

Birthday mornings in our house consist of a special breakfast. She picked out doughnuts that she liked and then this morning she celebrated with them complete with the 7 candle and the special Happy Birthday plate!

After breakfast she got to open her other gift from us. Brother and sister were very excited for her too!
They were just what she wanted her own pair of boots. These are not just any boots either. They also light up which our pastor noticed this morning while she was carrying the flag for children's church so the whole church got to see her new boots!!
Addi is now anxiously awaiting the rest of this week. She gets to bring treats to school to celebrate on Monday with her class. Then on Friday she is having some friends over for a birthday party and on Saturday we will celebrate January birthdays with extended family!

Adventures of Kole

You never quite know what Mr. Kole is going to find to play with. The other day Kole and Ella were playing so nicely and I thought 'Wow, I am really getting a lot done!' I then went to check on them and Kole had emptied two of Ella's shelves of clothes and was then perched on top smiling away. I was so shocked at first that I took him down and scolded him. Then I realized how cute he looked so I set him back up to get a picture. He just looked at me like 'Mom I thought I wasn't supposed to be up here.'

Kole also discovered that our bottom rack of the dishwasher has wheels. He lifted the empty rack out by himself and then had fun rolling it around the kitchen. He also tried to get in and ride, but found that wasn't such a good idea with all the pokey prongs!

Sleeping with curlers in!

Ella has had a bit of a problem leaving her curlers in at night and falling asleep. Addi was doing it by this age, but she is a little more patient then Miss Ella. She finally accomplished this and here is her beautiful hair after we took them out!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!

The last couple of weeks we have been getting ready for Christmas. The girls got to help make sugar cookies.

Addi had her Christmas concert at school. She loved it. I was trying to get a picture of her winking for one of their songs, but I couldn't get it. Although I got many other kids!!

We had our Moms and Tots Christmas Brunch this morning. Both Ella and Kole sat on Santa's lap!

Santa gave them each a gift. They enjoyed opening them and then playing with the material it was wrapped in. I think they almost enjoyed that more than the actually gift!

Thank goodness for a vacuum after this fun!!

Odds and Ends

I realized it had been just about a month since I have updated the blog. In my defense Mr. Koleson likes to touch the computer and did something to it. It is now at the repair man and I am pirating wireless off the neighbors as I am going through withdraw from not being online. These last few weeks we have dealt with lots of sickness at our house. We have all had one type of the flu which is not a fun thing. We have also survived me buying a different detergent and having four of us be allergic to it. We also had car issues and were down to own vehicle for five days. Trav and I were discussing why all these crazy things seem to happen to us and we just decided that hopefully they happen to everyone.
Tonight I took my first fall on the ice of the season. While carrying Kole out of Pizza Hut I slipped. Thankfully Kole didn't get hurt. My knee going to have a nice bruise, but hopefully nothing worse. There were some very nice people that helped me get the kids into the van and make sure I was alright.
