Kole is 6 months already!

I can't believe Koleson is 6 months already. The time has gone by so fast. He had his six month check up today. He already tips the scales at a little over 18 pounds. He also did very well with his shot. He cried for about 10 seconds and that was all. On the other hand big sis Ella had to get a shot today too because she is a little bit behind on her immunizations. I told her she was going to get one to try to prepare her. She then informed me several time that she doesn't like the Dr. She even told Dr. Robison that and he didn't even give her the shot. I explained we get shots so we can stay healthy. Here is the response I got. "I don't want to be healthy Mommy, Koley can be healthly instead."

Tongues!

Last night while eating supper Kole kept sticking his tongue out. So I told him to put his tongue back into his mouth. Ella then asks "Why does Koley have to keep his tongue in his mouth?" Before I could say a word Addison replies "Because that is where your tongue lives Ella, in your mouth!

Ella can ride a bike!

Ella has been working at trying to ride a two wheeler with training wheels. She has become really well except sometimes brakes are still a bit of a problem. It is a natural reflex for her to stick her feet down rather than put on the brakes. Here is a video of her riding around the driveway. This is the first time I have used the video feature on our camera so hopefully I will get a little bit better at it.

Trav has his 10 year college reunion in a few weeks and we needed to send in a family picture. I'm amazed it turned out this well considering we used a timer.

Full Week

Last week started with a trip to Sioux Falls. We stayed with Aunt Susan and took in LifeLight. It was a great time. The girls decided it was easier to carry their chairs around their necks. In the other pic you can see Sus and El praising. The highlight of LifeLight was getting to see Newsboys with their new lead singer Michael Tait. Sus and I had fun geeking out to old school DC Talk and Newsboys!

Coming home on Monday from Su Fu brought Addi's first flag football game. She is a natural. She has already had two of her three games and has scored 2 touchdowns in each. After the first game when someone told her good job you scored two touchdowns she looked a bit confused. When asked if she knew what a touchdown was she just smiled and said no! Travis is worried about her shorts getting pulled down with the flags, but most of the time the don't catch the kid with the ball. It is quite a hoot to watch.

This is all three trying to sit together and look at a book. They lasted long enough to get a few pictures. The rest of the week was full of different meetings for Trav so instead of going to the fair this past Saturday we are going to attend this coming Saturday. While Trav was working on homework and I was taking care of Kole; Ella did a little bit a coloring. I found her using the marker like it was a tube of lipstick.

We had rain off and on all day Saturday, but needed to get outside so we had a campfire in the backyard.

Campfire=smores so right after that we had baths.

Notice how El's hair stays back all by itself because of the marshmallow in it. Addi insists on have a wet washcloth for when she finishes.

Public Bathrooms

I don't know what it is about public bathrooms, but it seems that my children need to visit them all. On top of that they all seem to have this insane echo in them. Ella has discovered this and feels the need to yell anytime we enter a public restroom. Thankfully she hasn't said anything too embarassing yet, but I'm sure that time it coming.

Jobs

I have been working with Ella on basic information that I think she should know such as birthday, full name, town she lives in. Since she has mastered all those I thought we would move on to jobs. I asked her what Daddy did for a job. After a little thought she replied go to school. Which I thought was pretty good. We will keep working on the fact that he's a teacher and not a student like sister. Then I asked her what is Mommy's job. This one baffled her for a bit then she grinned at me and said "To praise the Lord!" What a good reminder for me! I then informed her that it is my job to take care of her and Kole as well.
