Happy Valentine's

We had a great valentine's day yesterday. The kids found presents on the breakfast table this morning!! We also had heart shaped pancakes for breakfast.

What a way to start the day. Kole started to tear open his presents before everyone was sitting down! The day just kept getting better. The weather outside was wonderful and we all got to play outside. We also got a package in the mail today!! Thanks Aunt Susan!!

The girls are modeling their matching pjs from Grandma DG as well as their new valentine socks.

Weekend @ Grandma's!!

We went to Elma this weekend to help Grandma Pauline celebrate her 70th birthday. We had a nice brunch with family to celebrate. We had good food, worked on puzzles and spent lots of time outside enjoying the beautiful weather.

Trav took all the kids for snowmobile rides. They loved it.

Trav and Addi made a snowman to decorate Grandma's front yard. Ella went out to help, but she got side tracked by the kitty and never actually helped! :)

Kole had fun playing with Grandpa's hats and even got to take them home to play with.

The final excitement for the weekend was when Trav took the four-wheeler out to burn trash before we left on Sunday. He thought it would be a good idea to take it for a spin through the front yard after taking care of the trash. The snow turned out to be a little too deep. We had to get out a snowmobile to pull it out. Kole enjoyed watching the action from the window.

I went out to help and with a small pull from the snowmobile the four-wheeler became unstuck. I teased Trav that he just wanted to ride one more time before we left.

100th Day of School

Addi recently celebrated the 100th day of school. This is quite the big deal. Which is a bit odd to me since this wasn't even a celebrate when I was in school. Her teacher had all the students make some type of project at home with 100 of something. Addi chose to use many different kinds of marshmallow to make a snowball fight.

The day was also filled with lots of other fun activities. You can see the crowns they decorated and wore. They also traced their footprint and then walked 100 steps around the school and placed their foot where they ended. The class read 100 books that day. Addi had an absolute blast that day. Part of it must be that great teacher she has this year! ;)

Excuses

Ella is quite creative when it comes to excuses. She didn't care for the dish is made for supper tonight. So I heard lots of excuses. My two favorite were as follows:

"Mom I can't eat my noodles because they have magic in them and they will turn me into a frog."

"Mom the doctor said it wasn't good for me to eat noodles."

New Furniture

We got our new furniture delivered on Wednesday. We are loving it. The couch and loveseat look the same and then Kole is trying out the chair. We also have a new coffee table and two endtables. After saving our Christmas money for eight years I would now say it was well worth it!!

Ella's 1st Haircut

Ella got her first haircut for the 1st time a week ago. She was quite distraught about it when we first talked about it because she was afraid it was going to hurt. She sat so well and 15 minutes later we were done. After she was done she proclaimed with a huge grin "You were right Mom! It didn't hurt at all." She even got a sucker for sitting so well!!
