Baseball Star in Action!!!

Kole has become a lover of anything having to do with balls. Dad has been helping the sisters learn to swing the bat for t-ball. Kole picked up on it and was trying to use their bat and tee. He has a smaller one in the house that he loves to use. This video is of a typical batting practice.

Kole is also convinced that melons are balls. He was crying in the grocery store the other day until he spotted the melons. Then the paci was instantly dropped from the mouth and the word ball with uttered several times.

Last week when seeing Dan Wardell(the IPTV guy) at the library Kole was rather unimpressed. That is until he opened a treasure chest and inside was a beach ball. Again the paci was dropped out of the mouth and ball, ball, ball was uttered with gusto several times.

Full Weekend

Since Trav is in his third week of on campus grad school I seem to associate the weekend with the time that he is home. Which is Thursday night through Monday night. We fit plently in when he could take breaks from the crazy studying that comes with taking three classes in six weeks.
Thursday and Friday we spent the days at the lakes. Trav's extended family was at Trigg's so we did everything from building sand castles to taking naps on boats. It was a great time to get 'away' yet still be at home. Addi also completed two weeks of swimming lessons on Friday. She has officially passes Level 1(after 3 tries) and will start level 2 next week.
Saturday was fairly low key, but we did promise the kids a picnic. So we headed two blocks down the road to the city park and ate supper while being eaten alive by mosquitos. Addi is still quite distraught over all her bites fives days later ;).
Sunday was filled with church in the morning, afternoon naps, then a trip down to Arnold's Park. We went to a fund-raiser for a friend's niece. The kids loved being at the park and we were also able to catch up with many friends.
Monday brought a full day as well. I was awoken by the phone to find out the we got to play with my niece Lily yesterday. Then we headed to Spirit Lake for a hair cut, groceries, some time at a park, a spin of the wheel at the library, and our last bible study(the reason for the trip over.) Bible study was great we just finished studying the book Counterfit Gods. Our pastor is doing a sermon series on it his summer. We would recommend it to anyone.
Our afternoon brought packing to send Trav away for one more week and getting ready for the final t-ball game of the year.
Trav has been helping coach Addi's team this year. So that leaves me with the younger two to try and watch the game. I only missed one of Addi's three at bats last night. We also had to make a trip to the bathroom during the game. Now that is an adventure in itself, but last night Ella taught me the fine art of choosing a stall. We walked into the first one and there was a little bit of tp in the toilet so that one was off limits. So we walked to the other stall and that one had 'leftover stinkies' in it. So back to the first stall where she had to know what was in the toilet before she would sit down and go. The whole time this was going on I was hoping she didn't have an accident. Thankfully we survived the trip without any major tramma although Kole was inches from playing in the toilet water!!!

New Family Pic

We have been wanting to take a family pic for awhile and we were able to get a fairly decent one. Trav's sister Teresa was kind enough to take this for us at Natalie's wedding. This was down in Kansas City over Memorial Day weekend.

Don't throw that...

ball in the house, chair, car, plate, fork, etc. It seems that Mr. Kole has decided that everything need to be thrown these days. Luckily none of us have gotten hit with any of these objects yet, but I'm hoping when it happens it's not me. While we have been tell him no after he does this it isn't seeming to have much of an effect. He will just look at you all innocent, run over to the object that was thrown, pick it up, wind up behind his back and throw it again.

Time marches on!!!

So six weeks have gone by and I haven't updated the blog. School has been out a month and Addi is now officially a first grader and anxiously awaiting her school year with Mr. Popken. Trav has started summer school and has completed one of his three weeks on campus at UNI. We have been busy going to the pool, riding bikes, gardening, playing t-ball, and visiting the library to name a few. I am going to try my best to update this more regularly even though I don't spend near as much time inside during the summer.
