When I grow up....

Today while doing devotions with the kids we had quite an interesting conversation.  The devo was based on Jeremiah 29:11 which talks about the plans God has for your future.  The conversation naturally led into discussion on what the kids wanted to do when they grow up.  Addison wants to be a teacher.  Ella wants to be a rock start teacher. (for the record I don't really know what that means, but she has told us this several times!)  Then we got to Kole.  His answer was he wants to be a cow.  Addi tried to help him out and say you mean you want to be a farmer and have cows!?!  Kole specifically told her "No I want to be a cow!"

Birthday Fun

Well now that the month of March is almost done that means all the birthday fun for the month is over as well. Ella is now 5!!! Here she is in normal Ella fashion, hair flying everywhere and a big grin on her face. Two of her favorite birthday gifts this year were a new princess bike helmet which also came with a bell for her bike. She is also modeling her new blue bag chair that she got for campfires, ball games, etc. Notice she has a dress on in one picture and a skirt in the other. Dresses and skirts are her favorite right now!!

Mr. Koleson is now three. He reminds us often that he is a big boy now. He loves everything having to do with farming and told us that he was a farmer. He loves to pretend that he is a bull which is what he is doing here.

Kole received this pedal tractor for his birthday as you can see he was pretty excited. It didn't take him, but a few minutes and he already was asking me for a wagon. He went to get is little plow from his room, but that didn't work. He now can be seen in the driveway with our radio flyer wagon hooked up to his tractor!

Addi's accomplishments!

This is the bug habitat that Addi made for the elementary extravaganza we had recently. They had to invent their own bug and then create the environment in which it lives. She named her bug the Lingham. Her bug eats ladybugs. One of my favorite parts of the project is the little sign in blue that says Please no touching by Addi!

This is a picture of Addison with her artwork that is currently being displayed at the All School Dickinson County show at the Lakes Art Center. She received an honorable mention for the owl that she created.

Father Daughter Dance

Last weekend the Cherish Center held their annual father-daughter dance. The girls got to go on a fancy date with Daddy. Here they are getting their flowers for the dance. It was hard to get a good pic of Ella. She was so excited she wouldn't look at the camera.

Addison is all smiles.
All three ready for their date. They went to dinner at a nice restaurant with other dads and daughters. Then they danced the night away. Ella was so tired from all the dancing that she fell asleep in the car on the way home!

Just so you know.....

if you are busy making supper and realize you haven't seen or heard from your almost 3 year old for awhile; you should go find him.

This is the cute, yet very guilty face I found hiding downstairs in his sister's room. This is two containers of lip gloss smeared on and why I hadn't heard or seen him in awhile!

Talented

While combing through Ella's hair I encountered several knots which is not uncommon. I told her that she was quite talented to have that many knots in her hair. Her reply, "Mom, I'm not talented, I can't juggle!" Apparently to be talented you have to know how to juggle!!!

All about goats!!!

This last weekend we had the opportunity to go to a goat farm. We went to Elma for the long weekend and Trav's sister had some friend that operate a dairy goat farm.
The kids started off by seeing and throwing hay at the actual milking goats. Then they got a chance to see the two week old kids. We finished our time there by going to hold and see the goats that were a week old or less. All three kids loved holding the goats.
We put Koleson in one of the pens holding the goats and he loved it. In fact he was so comfortable that had sat down with them!

As you can see and hear they loved the goats!!!

Throwing hay to 'feed' the goats!
