Ready for church
Kole sported his first tie this Sunday for church. The hat didn't make it to church because for some strange reason sister's marker just happend to mark on the top of it during the drive to church!!The difference with a boy
So after this last week I have a new found respect of mothers with boys. Don't get me wrong I love my girls and they are quite active, but nothing like Mr. Koleson. I am just tired thinking about keeping up with him and it has only just begun. Here is a small run down of his many adventures this past week.
Kole loves balls. We haven't really given him the ball to play with more than the girls, but that is his toy of choice. While helping Daddy grill one night and playing with a ball it rolled under our car. Daddy thought he would be just fine to crawl under and get it. Needless to say he got stuck and before Trav helped him out he came inside and told me to get the camera.

He was pretty much in the middle of the car, but had worked himself out a bit before I got there with the camera.
Koleson also likes to throw his ball down our driveway and watch it bounce out onto the street. Usually this is a fine game that is just annoying to have to walk across the street to retreave the ball. It has been terribly wind lately and he decided to let his ball go. I heard him yelling for it as soon as it hit the street. Then the wind took it and it started rolling. I grabbed Kole, told Ella to stay put and started running down the street after the ball with Kole on my hip and flip flops on my feet. After running for a block and not catching the ball I figured I better get back home since Ella was there by herself. After getting back home we got in the van and drove to find the ball. It was resting 2 and a half blocks away on the football field. Funny he hasn't tried to throw it down the driveway since then!!
The most hair raising experience of the last week involved Kole and our window wells. Trav built the window wells out of landscaping bricks and they are rather deep. Kole likes to wander around the yard and while Daddy and the girls were putting mulch around the trees Kole wandered off. Daddy found him hanging from his fingers inside the window well. Kole was brought back to the front yard and Ella was put in charge of watching him. Guess what happened a second time!! Thankfully I didn't witness this and he didn't get hurt, but yikes!!!

The Bible says...
While backing out of the garage tonight Addi noticed that Ella had scribbled on her picture on the easel. She started to throw a bit of a fit and get after Ella. This is how Ella responded. "Sister the Bible says 'No arguing about coloring on other people's pictures." Amazingly enough Addi was so dumbfounded that the fit stopped! I guess those Scriptures we have been working on are sticking! :)
Addi Pics
Here are some recent pics of Addi. She has been loving this wonderful spring weather. Gymnastics started again so she looks forward to that every week. She has become a lover of skirts and dresses. The last three weeks she has worn one to school 2 or 3 days a week. I have no idea where that love came from; certainly not me!
My little helper
Ella helped me today. I did laundry and grabbed the hand towel to wash. I forgot to replace it with a new one. The next time I came back to the bathroom I found this full sized bath towel hanging there. I thanked her for helping me. Ella replied with a big smile " Your welcome Mom! I put up a big one!!"

Reading and Writing!

Addi has been so interested in things related to reading and writing lately. In this pic she is writing a story about a birthday. She also likes to create stories using stickers. I can't believe how well she can spell. Addison is also quite the reader now. They have a book that they bring home from school just about every night. She read Hop on Pop by Dr. Seuss last night. She did great and didn't even need help with very many words. Trav and I are just loving listening to her sound things out. Then she gets so excited when she knows the word. Where did the time go that she is already reading and will be in Daddy's class soon!

Conversations
If I have learned that you never quite know what kind of topics are going to come up in conversations with the girls. Here are just a few that have happened over the last week.
Ella-"Mom you know what?"
Me-"What El?"
Ella-"Your hair is stuck to your head, see!" (As she pulls on her hair to show me)
Addi-"Mom and Dad my feet need to grow forward a little bit more."
Trav-"What do you mean Addi?"
Addi-"Well my feet touch the back of my sandal, but not the front so my feet need to grow forward not backward."
Ella-"Mom you know what?"
Me-"What El?"
Ella-"Your hair is stuck to your head, see!" (As she pulls on her hair to show me)
Ella while sitting on the toilet-"I have a little hole back there."
Me-"You have a what?"
Ella-"In my rear, I have a little hole back there."
Apparently Ella is really taking notice of her body lately!
Addi-"Mom and Dad my feet need to grow forward a little bit more."
Trav-"What do you mean Addi?"
Addi-"Well my feet touch the back of my sandal, but not the front so my feet need to grow forward not backward."
